Novelist
Paula Evans Archer’s Unexpected Life
portrays the heartache, humor and struggles of letting go and daring to grow
BELMONT, Mass. – Unexpected
Life by Paula Evans Archer is the first of a three book series which seeks
to boldly and honestly explore
the complex and emotionally-charged relationships between parents and their
adult children while focusing on the courage required to evolve.
This work of literary fiction tells the story of two families - one French Canadian and one American - whose lives converge at the same seaside cottage community in ways none of them could imagine. Unexpected Life depicts loss, love, and letting go: not only the parents letting go of their children, but as the parents become attracted to each other, the children become astonishingly aware that they must let go of their parents. Written to be bold, humorous, and heart-wrenching, Archer also deals with how language, familiar and foreign, spoken and unspoken, can help or hinder communication.
Archer works to unveil the internal and external landscapes of the characters as they each peel back the layers of stress, assumptions and long-held resentments in their lives, yielding to the nourishment and renewal of their beautiful surroundings and neglected sensuality. The author urges each character to step out of their usual comfort zone and reevaluate their identities, their desires, the meaning of parenthood, childhood, family, friendship, love, lust, and the cost and joys of becoming and remaining truly alive.
Unexpected Life is available for sale online at Amazon.com, BookSurge.com,
Alibris.com, and through additional wholesale and retail channels worldwide.
